On 25 October at the Nuvola di Roma there will be a preview screening of Robert Zemeckis’ new fantasy, Le streghe, organized by Alice nella Città.

Alice in the City is preparing to celebrate Halloween with Witches. The new and anticipated fantasy directed by Robert Zemeckis and based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl will be previewed Sunday 25 October with a special screening at the Sala Alice TIMVISION inside the futuristic structure The cloud, in Rome in the EUR district.

Also co-produced by Guillermo del Toro e Alfonso Cuaron, the film makes use of a cast of names of strong appeal: Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth e Chris Rock. Zemeckis therefore revisits the novel by Roald Dahl from which already in 1990 the director Nicolas Roeg had made an adaptation with Angelica huston titled Who is afraid of witches?. It is a moving story told with dark humor that revolves around a young orphan (in the film he is the newcomer Jahzir Kadeem Bruno) who, at the end of 1967, goes to live with his beloved grandmother in Demopolis, a rural town in Alabama. The boy and his grandmother come across some flashy and diabolical witches, so the grandmother wisely decides to take the boy to a seaside resort without knowing to go from the frying pan to the fire. Here the Supreme Witch has organized a sort of gathering of sorcerers from all over the world to carry out her evil plans.

The preview is organized by Alice in the City, a film festival dedicated to a younger audience that until 2011 was a section of the Rome Film Festival to then acquire its own autonomy, while continuing to take place in parallel on the same dates. To be able to buy tickets you need to keep an eye on the site romacinemafest.org.

Witches then digitally exclusive on October 28 and will be available for premium purchase and rental on Amazon Prime Video, Apple Tv, Youtube, Google Play, TIMVISION, Chili, Rakuten TV, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Film & TV and for premium rental on Sky Primafila e Infinity.
