It happened approximately between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. in Argentina. The contents gave an error message in different countries.
Thousands of YouTube users around the world reported a fall on the video platform owned by Google, which blocked most of its content for an hour.
When trying to play videos, a Error message which suggested trying to login “again later”.
The failures began around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Argentina and ended after 10:30 p.m. In the middle, users began to notice that only some content could be viewed.
The Downdetector website reflected in a Map that the fall impacted on United States, several countries in America including Brazil and Argentina, and much of Europe.
Through a post on Twitter, YouTube acknowledged that it was aware of the problems and that it was “working on a solution”.
On social media, many users commented that they had reached reset your wifi equipment, thinking there was a connection problem on their network, until the real problem was revealed.
The failure would also have affected other services that use the YouTube infrastructuresuch as YouTube TV and movies and TV shows that are purchased through Google TV (formerly known as Google Play Movies & TV).
Other Google services, such as G Suite, Gmail and Google Cloud, did not report massive problems, although there were users on social networks who also reported problems with these platforms.
In early September this year, Google suffered a much more widespread outage that affected several services, including Gmail, Drive, and Nest.
The internet giant had a similar problem in March. There was also a minor outage in September that affected Drive, and in April and March there were two more outages at Nest.
