In August, the FIA, FOM and all Formula 1 teams signed an Agreement for the next five years. The FIA World Motorsport Council today ratified these agreements, as well as changes to the regulations for the 2021 season, which will now be incorporated into the text.
World Council members thanked Chase Carey, outgoing Formula 1 Executive Director, for welcoming the imminent appointment of Stefano Domenicali.
The World Council approved the calendar of the WEC Series, the World Rally Championship, and included the Extreme E Series in the FIA International Series.
Due to repeated cancellations of competitions during the 2020 season, the scoring rules for the super license have been changed. Drivers can now score four years instead of three, based on the highest score in any three years of the four-year period including 2020.
Riders who do not score 40 points for a super license due to circumstances beyond their control or due to force majeure will have the opportunity to have their case reviewed separately by the FIA.
