Los Pumas coach Mario Ledesma defined this Friday the list of 45 summoned who will travel to Australia to play the Rugby Championship with the news of the return of Juan Imhoff to the selected team after five years.

The 32-year-old winger who plays for Racing 92 Paris had not been part of the national team since the 2015 World Cup semi-final against Australia. That participation was remembered with his iconic image flying to support a try against Ireland that gave the team the historic victory to advance to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the back trained in CUBA, Matías Moroni, who was initially going to be part of the list, suffered a sprain in the lateral ligament of his right knee and will not travel with the delegation.

Of the final roster, 32 players are in the concentration that the Argentine rugby team performs in Uruguay and will get on the plane next Sunday, October 4. For their part, the other 13 are those who are active in Europe and who will join the squad on Monday, October 19.

Los Pumas’ debut in the competition will be on Saturday, November 7, against South Africa, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

In the first stage in the lands of the Wallabies, the Argentine team will have to quarantine for 14 days, where they will be staying in Sydney and will train under isolation protocol.

The players that are not on the list heading to Oceania will join the Argentina XV squad to play the 4 South American Nations, in Montevideo, Uruguay.
