iPad Pro models offer superior performance, display, and accessories for content creators and professionals.

The iPad Pro is Apple’s most capable tablet, with superior M1 or M2 silicon, ultra-bright display, and wealth of software features. Buyers must decide between the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, and there are several key factors to consider. The 11-inch model is more portable, weighing half a pound less than the 12.9-inch model, and it is also $300 cheaper. The 12.9-inch model has a brighter mini-LED display and is better suited to power users who require a larger canvas to work with. Similarly, the larger model is also better for typing, as keyboard cases for the 12.9-inch model have larger palm rests and trackpads.

The question of whether the iPad Pro can replace a laptop has been asked since the iPad’s debut. The answer is yes, to some degree, as software improvements and better multitasking features on iPadOS make it more capable than ever. However, there are still many pro-grade services and programs that require a desktop or laptop to run.

For students, the 11-inch iPad Pro is the better choice as it is easier to carry around and costs less. Both models come with 5G and LTE support, so the differences to note here are portability and price. For artists, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is better, with its bigger and brighter display, and it supports the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil.

When deciding which iPad Pro is right for you, it is important to consider how you will use the tablet. If you are a content creator or professional, the 12.9-inch model is likely the right choice. If you are a student or need a more portable work machine, the 11-inch model should be sufficient. It is also recommended to visit a local Apple store to demo the lower-end iPad models before making a decision.
