Virat Kohli and other Team India cricketers congratulate KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty on marriage.
Virat Kohli and other Team India cricketers have congratulated KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty on their wedding. The couple tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony at a farmhouse in Khandala owned by the latter’s father, Suniel Shetty. KL Rahul was not named in the squad for the New Zealand series due to personal reasons, which eventually turned out to be his wedding to Athiya Shetty.
KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty have confirmed their marriage on social media, which was attended by some of the biggest names from both the cricket and film world. Former India captain Virat Kohli was among the first ones to wish KL Rahul to join the ever-growing group of married players in the national team. Other Team India cricketers like Suryakumar Yadav, Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina also wished the couple on the special occasion.
KL Rahul recently played a match-winning knock in the second ODI against Sri Lanka, helping India to their second successive victory over the islanders. He anchored the innings and remained unbeaten on 64, needing 216 runs to win at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. However, his poor show in the final match against Sri Lanka once again reignited calls for his removal from Team India. Despite this, former India opener Aakash Chopra has backed him to produce the goods at No.5 for the two-time World champions.
KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty’s wedding was a beautiful, close-knit ceremony in Khandala. The couple has been in a relationship for more than five years and has received best wishes from the cricket and film world. KL Rahul is the captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants, who also wished the pair, saying: “Heartiest congratulations to kaptaan KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty from the entire Super Giants family. May your partnership keep flourishing forever.” With the couple officially married, they are sure to receive more blessings from their fans and well-wishers in the days to come.
