The Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez He is on his way to Spain after leaving the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Caracas, where he was a refugee for 18 months, his father told AFP this Saturday.

The opposition leader was at the Spanish Embassy in Caracas since April 30, 2019, when he took refuge in the diplomatic facilities after Operation Libertad, an attempted military coup against Maduro in which López was released from his house arrest for their own captors.
López I couldn’t ask for asylum because Spanish law only allows it to do so in national territory, so it remains a “guest” and with a limitation of its political activity.
