Sydney van Hooijdonk helped NAC Breda in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday with a hat-trick to a big home win against Young Ajax: 4-0. Young PSV and Jong FC Utrecht both achieved a great victory earlier in the evening.

Great victories Jong PSV and Jong Utrecht

Van Hooijdonk drew in the ninth minute from a penalty for NAC’s opening goal against Young Ajax. After just over half an hour, the striker doubled the margin with a header from a cross by Mounir El Allouchi.

Fifteen minutes before the end, Van Hooijdonk also made the decision and three minutes later Nick Venema determined the final score at 4-0 in the Rat Verlegh Stadium.

Maurice Steijn was not on the sofa in Breda. The NAC coach may have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the corona virus and is therefore staying in home quarantine as a precaution. Assistant coach Hans Visser therefore did the honors for the home team.

Because of the victory, NAC remains without loss of points even after six games and is firmly in the lead. The people from Brabant are five points ahead of number two Almere City FC, which will visit FC Den Bosch on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Jong PSV was 3-0 too strong for Telstar at home. All goals were scored in the second half. Nigel Thomas took care of the 1-0 in the 57th minute, Kristófer Kristinsson was responsible for the 2-0 three minutes later and Djenairo Daniels determined the final score in the 79th minute at 3-0.

Young FC Utrecht won at the last minute at Go Ahead Eagles: 2-3. The home team was on roses fifteen minutes before the end by goals from Mohamed Mallahi and Jeredy Hilterman, but the Deventer came back to 2-2 by two hits from Sam Hendriks. Hilterman still gave his team the win in injury time.

The match between Young AZ and MVV Maastricht resulted in a spectacle in Wijdewormer: 3-3. The home team led 3-1 thanks to two goals from Mohamed Taabouni and one goal from Thijs Oosting, but Thiebaut Van Acker and Jérôme Deom then led the Limburgers to a point.
