Van Hooijdonk drew in the ninth minute from a penalty for NAC’s opening goal against Young Ajax. After just over half an hour, the striker doubled the margin with a header from a cross by Mounir El Allouchi.
Fifteen minutes before the end, Van Hooijdonk also made the decision and three minutes later Nick Venema determined the final score at 4-0 in the Rat Verlegh Stadium.
Maurice Steijn was not on the sofa in Breda. The NAC coach may have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the corona virus and is therefore staying in home quarantine as a precaution. Assistant coach Hans Visser therefore did the honors for the home team.
Because of the victory, NAC remains without loss of points even after six games and is firmly in the lead. The people from Brabant are five points ahead of number two Almere City FC, which will visit FC Den Bosch on Tuesday.
