Virgil van Dijk (29) admits that it can be “challenging times” for Liverpool after the shock loss 2-7 for Aston Villa.
The Liverpool star believes that the league title has made them a target for the opponents.
It appears in Eddie Hearn’s podcast “No Passion No Point” on.
The Dutchman also admits that he greatly misses the atmosphere at Anfield during the corona shutdown.
– I think that staying at the top is the toughest thing, says van Dijk in the program.
– Everyone will see you fail when you have reached the top, he adds.
– I myself will give everything I have until I post, and then I have nothing to regret afterwards.
Van Dijk and his teammates were able to celebrate a delayed league championship due to the corona break. But the new season has not gone as well, and they got the worst possible start to the international break with the big loss for Aston Villa. And now the league leader – and city colleague – Everton is waiting on Saturday.
– There are challenging times ahead of us. We are masters, which took a while. We should enjoy the moment and “go for it”.
