Jan-Arie van der Heijden returns to Willem II after nine years. The 32-year-old defender, who was transfer-free, signed a contract with the Tilburg club on Monday until the end of this season. Heracles Almelo attracted the German defender Elias Oubella and the Danish attacker Kasper Lunding Jakobsen.

Van der Heijden was told in June that Feyenoord decided to say goodbye to him definitively. His expiring contract was not renewed.
The left leg played 97 league games for Feyenoord in five seasons, scoring four goals. Last season, he played only five times in the Eredivisie.
Van der Heijden also played for Willem II from 2009 to 2011, who hired him from Ajax. In two seasons, he played in 58 league matches and was three times accurate. After that period he played for Vitesse for four years.
Not only Willem II was interested in Van der Heijden, but he nevertheless opted for a return to Tilburg. “During the conversations I got a warm and convincing feeling that told me that I had to go again for Willem II”, he explains on the website from his club.
Van der Heijden is the eighth reinforcement for Willem II during this transfer period. The Brabant club previously brought in John Yeboah (VfL Wolfsburg), Robbin Ruiter (PSV) and Derrick Köhn (Bayern Munich).

Heracles signed Oubella for two years, with an option for another season. The nineteen-year-old central defender comes over from 1. FC Köln, where he played for the second team.
Oubella had been training in Almelo for a while in the preparation. “I experienced those two weeks as very positive”, he says at the website from his new club. “I was well received by the team and felt at home here. I am happy that I have now signed for Heracles Almelo.”
Jakobsen is taken over by Heracles from the Danish Aarhus GF. The 21-year-old winger has signed a three-year deal, with an option for another season. He has been rented by Aarhus to the Norwegian Odds BK since June.
Oubella and Jakobsen are the seventh and eighth addition to Heracles. The Overijssel club previously took Rai Vloet (Excelsior), Noah Fadiga (Club Brugge) and Marco Rente (Borussia Dortmund) among others.
