US President Donald Trump is going to be quarantined because his advisor Hope Hicks tested positive for the corona virus on Friday. Trump’s wife Melania is also quarantined.

After the infection of Hicks, Trump himself was also tested. The results of that test should arrive on Friday. At first Trump said he did not know whether he would go into quarantine, but then he announced on Twitter that he was preparing for this.

In an interview with Fox News Trump says he and his wife have both been in close contact with Hicks; she attended the presidential debate between Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden on Tuesday evening.

Hicks more often travels on the Air Force One presidential plane. So it is also possible that she has infected other people close to Trump.

The advisor is not the first Trump employee to be infected with the virus. In July, his national security adviser Robert O’Brien tested positive for the coronavirus. Two months earlier, Katie Miller, Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary, was found to be infected.

Hicks served on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign team and then served as a White House adviser and communications director. In 2019, Hicks quit her job and went to work in the private sector, but returned to Washington earlier this year.
