Manchester United escaped a new loss of points in the Premier League on Saturday. The ‘Red Devils’ won after a spectacular final phase 2-3 on a visit to Brighton & Hove Albion.

An uninspired United played a lousy first half. The team of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fell behind due to a striking penalty from Neal Maupay, but brought the score to 1-1 just before half time thanks to an own goal by Lewis Dunk.

United took the lead for the first time in the second half. Marcus Rashford took care of the 1-2 by turning his direct opponent crazy and shooting the ball through the keeper’s hands, after which a truly insane final piece awaited.

Brighton, which hit the post or crossbar four times, made it 2-2 in the 95th minute via a header from Solly March. But United was later able to breathe a sigh of relief, because Bruno Fernandes remained extremely cool in the hundredth minute after a stupid handball from the penalty spot.

Donny van de Beek only came on in injury time with a 1-2 score at United and Joël Veltman remained on the bench at Brighton. Both came over from Ajax this summer and are still waiting for their basic debut in the Premier League, but already appeared at the kick-off in the League Cup.

United narrowly recovered with the first league win of the season from last week’s downer against Crystal Palace (1-3 defeat). Van de Beek was then responsible for United’s goal, but that did not result in a starting place against Brighton.
