PSV reported two more positive corona cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections in the selection to nine. Trainer Roger Schmidt therefore chooses midfielder Adrian Fein in the base for the match against ADO Den Haag.
‘Refusal KNVB is very disappointing to us’
Midfielder Jorrit Hendrix and reserve keeper Vincent Müller have been tested positive for the corona virus this weekend. They join in a row with Denzel Dumfries, Cody Gakpo, Pablo Rosario, Joël Piroe, Maxime Delanghe, Timo Baumgartl and Nick Viergever.
In addition, with Jong PSV there are also five infections (Shurandy Sambo, Justin De Haas, Djenairo Daniels, Cheick Touré and Kyan van Dorp) and Marco van Ginkel, Érick Gutiérrez, Maximiliano Romero and Armando Obispo are missing due to ‘normal’ injuries.
Despite the many infections, Schmidt can have enough players to play against ADO Den Haag. Fein gets his first starting place and is in midfield with Ibrahim Sangaré, Mario Götze and Mohamed Ihattaren. Those three also kicked off Thursday’s Europa League game with Omonia Nicosia (1-2).
Ryan Thomas and Mauro Junior are the backs and replace Dumfries and Philipp Max (bench). Jordan Teze and Olivier Boscagli are the central defense duo. Donyell Malen and Eran Zahavi, who was not allowed to travel to Cyprus during the week due to his previous corona infection, are in the forefront at PSV.
PSV line-up: Mvogo; Thomas, Teze, Boscagli, Mauro Júnior; Sangaré, Fein; Götze, Ihattaren; Malen, Zahavi.
Formazzjoni tat-tim ADO: Koopmans; Van Ewijk, Ratiu, Del Fabro, Pinas, Faye; Bourard, Rigo, Goossens, Philipp; Kramer.

Due to the large number of absentees and the busy schedule, PSV had asked the KNVB earlier this week to postpone the match against ADO to the end of December, but the association refused.
A new request from Eindhoven on Sunday morning did not yield any results. “We play, but we are left with a very bad taste”, says general manager Toon Gerbrands at the site from PSV.
According to the rules, a club must play when thirteen players (one of whom is a goalkeeper) are available. “We can just meet that minimum number,” said Gerbrands, who also expressed his anger towards the KNVB on Friday.
