AI-powered tech to fake engagement for streamers; reactions range from creeped out to excited; unhealthy and unsustainable mindset leads to burnout.

Nvidia has released a new update to its Broadcast software that includes an AI-powered tool that inserts fake eyeballs into the user’s face to make it look like they are constantly looking at their webcam. This tool is meant to help streamers maintain the appearance of constant engagement with their audience, even when they are not. While some suggest this could be beneficial for those with autism, many have expressed concern over the implications of this technology.

The idea of needing to be “on” all the time, always “engaged”, and never taking too many breaks can lead to burnout. This new AI-powered tool could help streamers fake some of that engagement, but it’s unclear if this is the best solution. The static, dead stare that is created by the AI-powered eyeballs does not look natural and does not accurately portray how people actually look when talking to large groups.

Reactions to this tool have been mixed, with some people being excited about how it could help their livestreams and YouTube videos, while others are concerned about how creepy it looks and the implications of it. It is also questionable if this is a sustainable mindset that will eventually lead to more burnout.

The idea of having to constantly be “on” and “engaged” to succeed in the world of livestreaming is concerning and can lead to burnout. While Nvidia’s new AI-powered tool could help streamers fake some of that engagement, it is unclear if this is the best solution. Reactions have been mixed, with some being excited about the potential benefits, while others are concerned about the implications and how unnatural it looks. It is important to consider the potential long-term effects of this technology and find better solutions to help streamers succeed without risking their health or sacrificing their natural behavior.
