US President Donald Trump wants to enforce in court that the states of Pennsylvania and Michigan stop counting votes after the presidential election. At the same time, Trump is demanding to recount the votes cast in Wisconsin.

Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin will determine who will be the winner of the election. Trump’s rival Joe Biden currently has a tiny lead in Michigan and Wisconsin. Trump leads in Pennsylvania, but his lead is shrinking.

While the counting of the final votes is still in full swing, Trump has already claimed the profit in Pennsylvania. The position of the Republicans is that post votes received after election day do not count, but in Pennsylvania this is allowed until November 6. The party tried to challenge this through the Supreme Court before the elections, but it did not succeed then.

Trump’s campaign team wants to suspend vote counting in Michigan until it says it can monitor better. The Republicans also want a recount of the ballots that were counted when they were not yet able to exercise sufficient control.

Biden has won in Wisconsin. Trump, however, wants the votes in this state to be recounted. He is entitled to do this. A presidential candidate may request a recount if the difference in votes is less than 1 percentage point. That seems to be the case in Wisconsin.
