Bert van Marwijk says that the corona crisis provides partly ensured that he continues as being a trainer. The 68-year-old Limburger released on Monday that he would come back as national coach of the Integrated Arab Emirates (UAE).
“Everyone only sits at home and it only receives darker. I feel like going out again”, says Van Marwijk. The Telegraph. “That feeling has been fueled by means of corona. In the UAE they also have a lot better control of corona. Everything is open up as usual, the shops and the dining places. You can go wherever you want.”
Van Marwijk was fired in December recently as national coach of the Asiatische country. He then said that the chance he will return as a trainer seemed to be “very small”, but he will return to that now.
“It is very special while you are asked back. That convinced myself. I now get the chance to finish something which I started myself”, said the previous countrywide coach of the Dutch national team.
“Everyone was amazed after i was fired. Actually from the moment My partner and i left, there were already sounds the players wanted me back. If the players indicate that, you start great deal of thought.”
It is not yet clear if Van Marwijk will start his employment in the Emirates. He’s flying to help Dubai this week to finalize the main points of his contract. Against The Telegraph he says he will include things like John Metgod, Roel Coumans and even Taco van den Velde in the intended technical staff.
