Tottenham Hotspur bizarrely lost points against West Ham United on Sunday in the Premier League. The ‘Spurs’ led 3-0, but gave away that lead completely in the final phase: 3-3. Gareth Bale made his comeback in the second half as a replacement for Steven Bergwijn.
The game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seemed to be decided in favor of the home team after fifteen minutes of play. Son Heung-min already scored in the first minute after a nice long pass from Harry Kane.
Within ten minutes, Kane made the 2-0 with a hard shot on a pass from Son and the Englishman quickly signed with his head for the third of Tottenham Hotspur.
The home team held on to the comfortable lead for a long time, but in the final phase, West Ham brought the tension back out of nowhere. Fabián Balbuena headed in the 3-1 in the 82nd minute and three minutes later former Ajax player Davinson Sánchez worked the ball into his own goal.
It seemed to stay at 3-2, but Manuel Lanzini thought otherwise. The Argentinian hit the ball in the 94th minute after a knocked-off corner with great effect from the bottom of the crossbar against the ropes.
Bergwijn had a basic place with the team of José Mourinho, but was replaced by Bale after 72 minutes. The Welsh forward made his return to Tottenham after returning to London last summer after seven years at Real Madrid.
