Interview. The leader of Youssouf Toloba is the head of Dan Na Ambassagou, an autonomous organization fighting jihadists in Dogon Country.
PTherefore, in Mali, the Dan Na Ambassagou group (Dan Na Ambassagou) is an indispensable part of the Dogon national security equation, and it is not allowed to act in the fight against jihadists in the Sahel.Recently, by giving up FParamilitary speeches attracted recruits from all over. Goal: to improve the efficiency of jihadists and the sensitivity to human rights issues. He pointed out that in the bloody tragedy in the Dogon country, his leader Youssouf Toloba (Youssouf Toloba) recently met with the Minister of Reconciliation of the Transitional Government. In order to better explain its different positions on the current situation in Mali, its leader Youssouf Toloba (Youssouf Toloba) talked with Point Afrique.
Africa point: You are a warlord of Dan Na Ambassagou. Should your sport be considered a self-defense force or a militia?
Youssouf Toloba : We firmly believe that we are fighting for the Republic, for the country, and for everyone. We generally do not accept that the term “militia” has a negative or even derogatory meaning, and therefore do not consider us to be regarded as robbers or pranks. We are not militiamen, but resistance fighters, just like those who armed the Germans who were invaders in France during the Second World War.
How do you recruit members? We saw fighter jets at the checkpoint. They are still young to us. At what age can you start participating in sports?
To integrate into Dan Na Ambassagou, you must be a patriot and be prepared to shed blood for this country. No matter who you are, if you really have the courage and mind to work hard and fight for your country, then Dana Ambasagu welcomes you. We will not recruit people under the age of 18, and there are no minors among them.
Mali: Dogon Countryside Tour in the Center of Dan Na Ambassagou
The Malian flag does not only belong to the Malian government. It belongs to the country and the country, that is, 20 million Malians.
What is the level of your staff? In 2018, you said that there were about 5,000 people…
At the time, this was just an estimate. Today, we have more people than this. I can assure you that I am the only one who holds a list of members of our organization.
What is the Dogon country under Dan Na Ambassagou’s control?
As you pass by Mopti from Bandiagara to Douentza, you can walk around and fall asleep carefree. On the plains, this is another matter. In our self-defense movement, the combatants received neither the state’s remuneration nor the state’s nourishment. Moreover, we cannot occupy all regions without a country. This is not obvious because our only enemy jihadists come from all over the world and have a lot of resources, while we lack support, equipment and weapons.
The Bankass area is especially troublesome when your personnel are there. For what reason?
My man is everywhere, whether in Bankass, Douentza, Bandiagara, Koro, etc. Unfortunately, politics hindered the weird peace agreement signed with Koro jihadists and reverberated through Bankass.
