During these months, the used market, especially in relation to the automotive sector, has grown like foam. But what are the Spanish looking for when they buy a second hand car? These are the results of the study carried out in this regard by the Ocasionplus.com page.
Regarding the price, which is one of the compelling reasons to search the second-hand market, the study states that Spaniards have spent an average of 10,300 euros when buying the car. August was the month in which the most was wasted, reaching up to 11,201 euros on average per car.
The preferred fuel when looking for a second-hand model is diesel. 55% of drivers have preferred this fuel over gasoline and this trend has been observed since the beginning of the year. With regard to mobility with reduced emissions, only two out of every 100 transferred vehicles are of the hybrid type and gas or electric vehicles do not represent 1% of this market.
A promising figure is the average age of the used vehicles purchased, whichwhich has been maintained between 2 and 5 years. Of every 100 cars sold, 43 were within these margins. On average, among all the second-hand vehicles sold (and collected in the study), the second-hand car most bought by the Spanish is 3 years old.
The previous trend had registered a higher volume of second-hand car transactions around 10 years on average, with the consequent general aging of the Spanish automobile fleet.
Regarding the best-selling brands, in order, the Ocasionplus.com study reveals that they are the following: Opel, Peugeot, Ford, Citroën, Audi, Renault, Volkswagen, Nissan, Seat and Hyundai.
