A Shotton area emergency service ambulance in Flintshire, Gales, has been ransacked and later smashed and abandoned while the health workers responsible for the vehicle were treating a patient at her home.
The incident occurred last Saturday around ten o’clock at night, local time. The police received an immediate alert, and shortly after the theft was reported they found the abandoned vehicle in the nearby Dee View area, as reported by The Mirror.
The director of operations of the Welsh emergency service commented to the aforementioned media that the case is “a tremendous irresponsibility” for endangering the patient being treated, as well as the rest of the public. The health system sent another ambulance to the place in order to ensure the correct care of the patient.
“If there had been a need for urgently transfer the patient to hospital or using any material found inside the stolen vehicle, this could have been an extremely serious case, “said the director of operations.
Authorities are now investigating the case through a forensic analysis of the ambulance in order to find the thief (s) who perpetuated this dangerous robbery.
