The leader of the sovereign Liga and former Italian Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini, had to interrupt a rally in the southern region of Campania for the regional elections on September 20 and 21, amid whistles and boos from a group of people and tossing tomatoes.

Salvini had to interrupt his speech in the town of Torre del Greco after 5 minutes, when a group of people began to boo him and throw tomatoes.

“Whoever throws tomatoes, insults and threatens, does not protest. He is uncivil,” said Salvini when leaving the box after his speech was continuously interrupted by dozens of protesters. “I will return to find the good ones, who are the majority of the peaceful, quiet and hard-working people in this city,” he added.
