The Western Junior Hockey League will not hold playoffs this season.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WHL was forced to hold a brief 24-person campaign in 2020-2021.
WHL Commissioner Ron Robison said in his family tour letter: “We decided to summarize our 24 regular season schedule because we need to make adjustments in the process.” We hope that the Public Health Institute has established Conditions can be improved, but unfortunately, this is not the reality we see today. The continuing challenges of non-essential inter-provincial and international travel leave us no choice but to cancel the 2021 WHL playoffs. “
WHL is composed of 17 teams located in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and 5 clubs playing in the United States.
