Bad news for all those who were looking forward to the arrival of season two of The Witcher.
The Witcher, based on the successful video game and novel franchise, was Declared the most watched series in the world in its premiere yearor, beating big hits like The Mandalorian Y Stranger Things.
In fact, the popularity of the production was so great that even had an overwhelming effect with The Witcher 3, the video game of CD Project RED, whose scope in Steam it was shocking and broke the record for the most simultaneous players.
However, it seems that we will have to wait longer for the expected arrival of the second season, since a re-outbreak of coronavirus has prevented it.
El coronavirus contra The Witcher
The series of Netflix is having problems with the filming of its second season because they have detected some positive cases of coronavirus.
The Witcher is currently shooting in Arborfield Studios in West London, but decided to put it on hold after finding four positive cases of COVID-19.
Now, they are reviewing the protocols to tighten them up and will resume production when it is safer to return to work on set.
Remember that this is the second time that production has been paused, since Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) who will play Levels, tested positive at the beginning of the pandemic.
For now, it has not been specified if the positives were members of the team or some of the actors, but hopefully they can soon return to filming healthy so that the series The Witcher arrive as soon as possible to Netflix.
Season two of The Witcher will premiere sometime next year, and will also see the return of Henry Cavill as Geralt de Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Characteristic Y Joey Batey like the sublimely irritating Jaskier.
