The first edition of the San Vito Lo Capo Italian Film Festival has ended. The works judged to be the best were awarded the Silver Star.
The first edition of Italian Film Festival. Presented by the presenter and showgirl Veronica maya, the ceremony saw alternating on the stage of the Municipal Theater “Frate Anselmo Caradonna” of San Vito Lo Capo, guests and winners of the works presented in the competition, all strictly of Italian production. “Festivals are necessary because they give the public the opportunity to get closer to the artists,” said the Artistic Director of the Festival Paolo Genovese, “And their importance is such in every type of reality, even in the smallest ones like ours”. Between one award ceremony and another, the public welcomed the Festival’s godmother Agata Alonzo, the comedian from Palermo Roberto Lipari and the performances of the winner of the 13th edition of X Factor Sofia Tornambene and the songwriter and writer Erica Mou.
During the evening, the jury chaired by Massimiliano Bruno It’s composed by Michela Andreozzi, Matilde Gioli, Paolo Kessisoglu, Rolando Ravello and yes Edoardo Leo (the latter two not present), awarded the works in competition by assigning the “Silver Stars to Italian Cinema”. These are the winners:
- Audience Award: Romantic guide to lost places
- Best Supporting Actor: ex aequo Giovanni Calcagno per Paradise, a new life e Luca Zunic per Do not hate
- Best Supporting Actress: Carla Signoris per The holiday
- Best Actress: Sara Serraiocco per Do not hate
- Best Actor: Alessandro Gassmann per Do not hate
- Best First Feature: Do not hate of Mauro Mancini
- Best Film: The holiday of Enrico Iannaccone
The Artistic Director, Paolo Genovese, also delivered to Matilde Gioli the “Franca Valeri” Award it’s at Stefano Fresi the “Vittorio Gassman” Award. The Roman actor took the opportunity to share the incredible anecdote of when, as a child, falling into the mud while playing in a park, a gentleman approached him to ask him if he had been hurt: that man with the unmistakable voice was just Gassman.
A Miss with sesame of Giuseppe Moschella went the award for the Best Short Film, while the jury made up of journalists Stefano Amadio, Arianna Finos and Annamaria Piacentini, delivered the Silver star for the Best Documentary a The long route of Roberto Lo Monaco. Set in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, The long route follows the activity of fishermen around the bluefin tuna where, in the warm seas of Sicily, for centuries it has been fished with different techniques, possibly less and less aggressive towards the environment.
The Italian Film Festival with honorary president Fabrizio Del Noce, dedicated to the enhancement of Made in Italy cinema, is organized by A&D Comunicazione under the direction of Antonio Voltolina. The production of the 2020 edition is by Nexthing Entertainment.
