After Molly’s Game, Aaron Sorkin is about to debut on Netflix on October 16th with his second film as director, also in this case the story of a story and of the characters that really existed: as the title explicitly indicates, The Chicago Trial 7 tells of one of the best-known events in American history of the twentieth century, the trial of a group of activists (Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, David Dellinger, Tom Hayden, Rennie Davis, John Froines e Lee Weiner, with the addition of the leader of Black Panthers Bobby Searle, later tried separately) accused of conspiracy and incitement to riot for the violent riots in Chicago during the Democratic Convention of 1968 starting from the demonstration that the seven had organized.
Sorkin, who inherited the direction from Steven Spielberg, initially intending to direct, he was obviously also the screenwriter of the film, of which we present the first italian trailer, and has put together a cast that includes Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Frank Langella, Eddie Redmayne, Mark Rylance, Jeremy Strong, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Michael Keaton, John Carroll Lynch e Alex Sharp.
