There is talk of probable nominations for the awards of this anomalous film season, for the film of which we show you the trailer and which has toured several festivals, starting with the Venice Film Festival where it was presented Out of Competition. It is about One Night in Miami, costume film based on a play by Kemp Powers, which represents the actress’s directorial debut Regina King.

The story is very interesting because it sees’ (imaginary) meeting in Miami, on February 25, 1964, four historical figures of black culture: the activist leaders Malcolm X, he bluesman Sam Cooke and the football player Jim Brown, invited to his suite in Miami by Muhammad Ali, or Cassius Clay, after the boxer has beaten Sonny Liston. Protagonists are Kingsley Ben-Adir (Malcolm X), Eli Goree (Muhammad Ali), Aldis Hodge (Jim Brown), Leslie Odom Jr. (Sam Cooke), Joaquina Kalukango, Nicolette Robinson, Beau Bridges e Lance Reddick.

Al cinema in America One Night in Miami will arrive in cinemas, where possible, Christmas Day, and then streamed on Amazon Prime Video on January 15.
