The shooting of Jacques Audiard’s new film, Les Olympiades, written together with Céline Sciamma, has started in Paris.

After his much appreciated debut in English, I fratelli Sisters, winner of the award for directing in Venice 2018, and the work as screenwriter and director of the last two episodes of the fifth season of the beautiful series Office, Jacques Audiard he returned home to shoot Les Olympiades near Paris, written together with Lea Mysius (Ava) e Celine Sciamma, whose latest film, Portrait of the young woman on fire, premised her of winning the screenwriting award at Cannes 2019.

The new film is based on a collection of comic stories, Killing and Dying, of Adrian Tomine, cartoonist well known for his work on New Yorker. Little is known about the plot, except that it develops around the adolescence of young female protagonists. Certainly a different direction than the usual protagonists of Audiard’s films, especially men. The French director won the Palme d’Or for Deephan and directed one of the best French films of recent years, The Prophet.
