Work continues on the stadium, which will have a new playing field from 2021.
River continues with the works at the Monumental stadium, where the athletics track has already been removed, as well as the playing field, because in Núñez, work is being carried out fully on the grass from 2021.
This Wednesday, Vice President Jorge Brito visited the progress of the work on the stadium, which will have a hybrid playing field, with state-of-the-art aeration, similar to top venues such as Camp Nou, Bernabéu or Old Trafford.
This will end the problems that the turf has presented over the last few years and that unleashed the complaint of Marcelo Gallardo on more than one occasion.
Brito was accompanied by Stéfano Di Carlo (vice-second), Mariano Taratuty (protesorer and president of Works and Planning) and some journalists.
“For a few years we had a project to do something from scratch, at the level of the best level in world football. These jobs require money and time. In this sense, we take advantage of the fact that in the months ahead, games will be played without an audience of premises to start the work, “said Brito.
“These works, of a unique and unprecedented scope in South America, will allow the club to have the best playing field on the continent,” he added.
The cost of the work is around 177 million pesos. In addition, a single exit tunnel will be built for the home team and the visitor.
And with a modified playing field also in height (lower than the previous one), the foundations will be laid for a future remodeling of the Monumental grandstands.
