How will the return of Yakko, Wakko and Dot, the famous Warner brothers of the animated cartoons.
Good news for those of you who grew up in the 1990s alongside Yakko, Wakko and Dot, the famous Warner brothers from cartoon characters. After almost 22 years since the last broadcast of an Animaniacs chapter, the return that has been talked about since 2017 was confirmed.
Four years ago, its addition to the Netflix catalog was very well received. From then on, the rumors of a comeback were getting louder, but with nothing concrete. Until Warner Bros. revealed that it had begun working with Steven Spielberg’s company Amblin Television to revive the animated show.
And this Sunday the 11th everything was confirmed, when the social networks of the streaming platform Hulu TV published the first trailer of what will be the relaunch of Animaniacs.
The return of Animaniacs will be on November 20 with a 13-episode season on the Hulu platform. A second installment is expected, where you can see other historical figures such as Pinky and the Brain.
Hulu took advantage of New York Comic-Con to launch a trailer.
In the video you can see an animation of the main characters of the first Jurassic Park, 1993. It is a parody of a very remembered scene. You see Dr. Alan Grant (in the movie he was Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern).
She says, “Alan, this kind of cartoon died out in 1998. I mean, they haven’t been seen on TV since the golden age of animation!” Then a Spielberg in animated version appears to confirm the news.
“Where are you going?” Sattler asks. “Home. Welcome to Animaniacs,” replies Spielberg, who will executive produce the show along with Wellesley Wild and Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Blue Ribbon Content. Amblin will be producing alongside Warner and his vice presidents, Darryl Frank and Justin Favley.
“He did it! That crazy fruit son did it! ”Says the cartoon of Malcolm (the character played by Jeff Goldblum) referring to Spielberg. A fun way to equate these legendary TV characters with extinct dinosaurs.
The parallelism with the film continues. If in Jurassic Park it was explained what the new dinosaurs were like, in the trailer the description of the new Animaniacs is advanced. They came back with “clean vector lines” and in “panoramic format”.
And they did not return alone: ”Of course, there are also Pinky and the Brain,” says the animated Spielberg. “Pinky and the Brain?! You say that they are going to bring back Pinky and Brain ?! ”, they ask him. To which he responds: “We are going to bring back Pinky and the Brain.”
Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs it was the full name of the cartoon series created by Tom Ruegger, distributed by Warner Bros., and produced by Amblin Entertainment.
The series was first broadcast on Fox Kids between 1993 and 1995., and then by The WB as part of its children’s block Kids’ WB from 1995 to 1998. In the United States it was subsequently broadcast on Cartoon Network. It was also broadcast internationally on various air and cable channels.
