The autonomous communities have notified this Friday to Ministry of Health 25,595 new cases of covid-19, 9,723 of them diagnosed in the last 24 hours. This represents a notable rise compared to 19,851 on the same day last week and 23,580 this Thursday.
The global number of infections in Spain has already risen to 1,185,678 since the start of the pandemic, according to official statistics. The accumulated incidence in the last 14 days stands at 485, compared to 468 yesterday and 361 last Friday, with a total of 228,208 positives in the past two weeks.
In the last week, 857 people with a confirmed positive covid-19 diagnosis have died in Spain, a large rise compared to the 655 reported last Friday and the 790 yesterday. Up to 35,878 people with positive PCR have died since the virus arrived in Spain. In this Friday’s report they have been added 239 new deaths, more than the 173 reported this Thursday.
Currently, there are 18,162 patients admitted for covid-19 throughout Spain (17,520 yesterday) and 2,482 in ICU (2,404 yesterday). In the last 24 hours, there have been 2,296 admissions (2,349 yesterday) and 1,821 new arrivals (1,837 yesterday). The occupancy rate of beds occupied by coronavirus already stands at 14.73 percent (14.17% yesterday) and in ICUs at 26.59 percent (25.81% yesterday).
