As announced since the launch of this latest generation, the Spanish compact is now available with the new PHEV motorization and a range in electric mode of 64 kilometers.
Called e-Hybrid, this version uses a 150 hp 1.4 TSI heat engine associated with another 116 hp electric motor that, together, offer a combined power of 204 hp and 350 Nm of maximum torque. Thus, this PHEV version of the new Leon allows accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 7.5 seconds, while drastically reducing consumption and emissions generated. Presents a combined consumption from 1.1 to 1.3 l / 100 km, according to WLTP approval, and CO2 emissions of only 25 to 30 g / km.
The electric motor is powered by a set of lithium-ion batteries with 13 kWh capacity, which are recharged through a plug and through the regenerative braking system.
Regarding the charging socket, the new Leon e-Hybrid offers the possibility of charging only in alternating current, using 3 hours 42 minutes to recharge through a 3.6 kW outlet, or 5 hours 48 minutes via a normal plug 2.3 kW. This allows you to have the Zero label from the General Directorate of Traffic.
Label Zero of the DGT
Also, the fourth generation of this includes the Seat Connect app which, in addition to having the usual functions of the system, allows remotely control battery charge via smartphone, the status of the same, and activate the air conditioning remotely.
The new Leon engine range offers for the first time up to five different powertrains in one model, and thus having environmental labels C, Eco and Zero. Thus, it is offered with versions of gasoline (TSI), diesel (TDI), natural gas (TGI), Mild-Hybrid (eTSI) and, now, plug-in hybrid (e-Hybrid) with powers that go of the 90 CV of the 1.0 TSI, to the 204 CV of the new PHEV.
