The downtrend continues in the car market according to published report by brand associations and dealers Anfac, Faconauto and Ganvam. And is that September closed with a 13.5% drop in sales of passenger cars and SUVs, up to 70,729 units, when 81,746 cars and SUVs were registered in September 2019. In the accumulated for the year, 595,435 units have been sold, 38.3% less than in the same period of the previous year.
While the channels of individuals and companies have fallen more than 10%, that of renters is being especially affected, among other things due to the crisis in the tourism sector, and that has resulted in a 31.7% drop in September, with a cumulative 61.2% this 2020.
In this context, there is at least some positive news, and that is that the market for light commercial vehicles has grown by 7.4% in the ninth month of the year compared to the previous season. However, so far in 2020 the drop is 33.5%.
