Julian Nagelsmann (33) confirms that Alexander Sørloth (24) is still interesting for RB Leipzig.
The Leipzig coach met the press two days before his team opens the Bundesliga at home against Mainz.
One of the questions naturally revolved around Alexander Sørloth, who has had a strong reputation with the club lately.
– Where is Alexander Sørloth and when will we see him in an RB Leipzig suit? was the question.
– I do not know where he is. I’m not his father. I do not know why he should have been here, he has no contract here, Nagelsmann replied.
– I said last week that he is an interesting player. We are still working on a couple of candidates, and he is one of them.
On Wednesday this week, VG was informed that it
together with his agent Morten Wivestad to conclude an agreement with the German club.
Sørloth has been on loan from Crystal Palace to Turkish Trabzonspor for the past year. Trønderen has had great success in Turkey with 33 goals in the cup and series.
Trabzonspor-trainersat a press conference Wednesday morning.
– We have done everything we can for Sørloth to be here for another season. He has decided and he wants to go another way. When you have a player who has made up his mind, it’s not worth keeping him. His heart is not here. For me, the player’s heart must be here. He must want to be here himself. If not, we have to let him go and find a replacement, Newton said.
The president of the Turkish club is said to have stated that he is willing to let the Norwegian striker go for 320 million kroner. If it is the purchase price for Sørloth, the 24-year-old will be the most expensive player in Leipzig’s history.
According to Transfermarkt, the club has never paid more than 21 million euros for a player. The most expensive purchase for the club is the Spanish playmaker Dani Olmo, who was taken from Croatian Dinamo Zagreb.
