Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann (33) confirms that the conflict on the Norwegian national team has been a topic between him and Alexander Sørloth (24).

– I talked to Alex for a minute. He explained the situation to me and said that he had talked to Lars Lagerbäck. They talked about it and left it behind. They are two grown people. But this is not my table, Nagelsmann told VG at a press conference on Tuesday night.

He says he thinks it is positive with players who come with input on playing style and tactics, but emphasizes that he prefers that this does not take place in front of the whole team:

– It is important that you do not do it in the wardrobe. But a player can come to my office. If you are a manager, then you like players who have their own opinions. If they come to your office there is never a problem, but taking it up in the closet can be a problem.

As

, national team manager Lars Lagerbäck and Leipzig striker Sørloth got into an argument during a small group meeting which eventually escalated to a general meeting at the player hotel in Oslo during the national team meeting earlier in October.

After Lagerbäck and Sørloth in turn fought back against each other in press releases on Thursday, the case ended after a meeting on Sunday.

On Wednesday night, Sørloth’s Leipzig will play Manchester United at Old Trafford. Thus, Sørloth returns to the country where he failed to succeed in his year as Crystal Palace player in 2018. Trøndelag scored no goals in his 16 matches in the Premier League before he was loaned to Belgian Ghent followed by Turkish Trabzonspor, where he last season struck out in full bloom, scoring 24 league goals and securing a transfer to RB Leipzig.

The German club impressed a lot in last year’s edition of the Champions League where they reached the semi-finals and lost 0-3 against PSG.

Manchester United and RB Leipzig both stand with a full pot after the first group game match thanks to victories against PSG (2-1) and Istanbul Basaksehir (2-0), respectively.

The match will be broadcast on Viasport 1 on Wednesday evening at 21.00.
