The alert status is extended in Romania by 30 days, but unlike the last months, this announcement comes with important restrictions.
The progress of the number of coronavirus cases detected in Romania is worrying. We already have many days with over 3000 new cases, and new restrictions were inevitable. These were communicated in a joint conference of Nelu Tătaru with Raed Arafat, members of the National Committee for Emergency Situations.
Things are clearer than ever. From now on, wearing a mask will become mandatory in areas with a high infection rate of three per thousand. In addition, weddings, baptisms and any private events are prohibited at the national level, regardless of the local situation of the number of cases. It also doesn’t matter if they were planned indoors or outdoors. “It is very difficult to follow the rules at these events in general. We are not talking about classrooms here. It turned out that the rules are not always followed, they become places where the virus spreads “, concluded Raed Arafat.
It is also planned to gradually reduce the activity of restaurants, cafes, theaters and cinemas, and can reach their closure in localities where the infection rate exceeds 3 per thousand inhabitants. Raed Arafat specified, answering a question, that the restaurants will be able to operate where the County Committees will issue decisions on the incidence of COVID-19 cases under 3 per thousand inhabitants. In the first phase, the activity of theaters, theaters, cinemas, restaurants, cafes – capacity is reduced by 50% where the infection rate is less than or equal to 1.5 per thousand inhabitants
The state of alert in Romania is extended for 30 days starting with October 15. Regarding the election campaign – events are allowed indoors with the participation of a maximum of 20 people, and outside the number of participants is reduced to a maximum of 50 people. All staff working in centers for the elderly, people with disabilities will be tested once a week by DSP.
