The journalist of EL PERIÓDICO Marta Lopez He has become a member of the Board of Directors of Reporters Without Borders (RSF), which decided to renew part of his positions in the General Assembly held on September 10. Together with Marta López she also joins as a vocal Alejandra Agudo, journalist for ‘El País’.

The so far vocal Alfonso Bauluz, editor-in-chief of International for the Efe agency, is the new general secretary. Carmen Rengel, a journalist for the Huffington Post, will reappear as Treasurer.

The attending partners unanimously supported the new additions to the Board of Directors. The president of the Spanish section of RSF, Alfonso Armada, described López and Agudo as “accredited journalists, with a great track record and close ties with Reporters Without Borders,” highlighting “their willingness to give the best of themselves to the association.”

Marta López (Barcelona, ​​1967) is currently editor-in-chief of the International section of El PERIÓDICO, a position in which she has held since 2009 and a half in which she has worked since 1995. Previously, she had been an editor and section chief. Previously, between 1990 and 1995 she had worked as an editor at ‘Diari de Barcelona’, in the International and Politics sections.

Throughout these years she has covered as a special envoy some of the most relevant events on the European continent, such as the ‘Brexit’ referendum, Scottish independence, British and French elections and European summits. Marta López has a degree in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
