With the rumors of the Galaxy Note series coming to an end due to losing its distinctive feature Samsung you will need another series of flagships the only one to relieve it. The Galaxy Z series is the one, of course, and it would be twice if it ends up with the technology that rumors indicate: the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 it would have an intra-display camera.
Surely the South Korean manufacturer would have wanted the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to be the first smartphone in the world to debut with this technology but that privilege has already been held by the ZTE Axon 20 5G. And if we take into account that Xiaomi already has its own intra-display camera module, perhaps Samsung will end up arriving somewhat late to this trend.
Samsung would be developing its own camera module
The reputed site ETNews from South Korea reports having contacted sources close to Samsung and they revealed the news. Apparently, its first intra-display camera module is being forged in the tech giant’s labs that will allow it to put an end to notched and perforated screens.
Since the second half of 2018, notches have been present in most of flagships and by 2019 there were no devices that did not wear them. For much of 2020 it was embedded cameras that dominated front end design languages and we may have to wait until the second half of 2021 to see another trend.
The reasons for delaying the debut of this technology could well be that Samsung is looking to hone and polish it for a premium launch. But there are those who say that the choice of the Galaxy Z series and not the Galaxy S series is to guard against a potential sub-standard performance in its main series of premium phones.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 would have an intra-display camera and it would be the first time that Samsung presents a device with such a feature. His announcement would be planned for the third quarter of 2021 and by then we may see others flagships making it competition although, strictly speaking, they may not be flexible screen smartphones.
