A new toilet paper vending machine has come into operation in Düsseldorf (west of Germany) due to the recrudescence of pandemic in the country and the debate around the need to a new confinement.
The machine is in a parking lot in the Benrath neighborhood, opposite the factory of local toilet paper producer Hakle, which wanted to test the potential ofe this device, whose media coverage is being wide.

Two rolls for 2 euros
The vending machine, available 24 hours a day, offers two rolls of toilet paper -both the traditional model and the vanilla-smelling one- for 2 euros, when for little more you can buy a pack of 8 rolls in a supermarket or drugstore. It also has wet toals, at 1.50 euros the package.
The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) noted this week that Germans they hoard again toilet paper, disinfectant, soap, flour and yeast due to the increase in coronavirus infections in the country.
Between October 12 and 18 acquired almost double (a 89.9%) of toilet paper with respect to the average of the months prior to the crisis, that is, between August 2019 and January this year.
Germany has registered more than 11,200 new cases a day in the last two days, the highest figures since the start of the pandemic. The Government has advocated for combat the spread of the coronavirus with local and regional measures, but in the media and political space there is more and more talk about the possibility of confinement.
