The first meeting will see the line-ups of Galatasaray (PSV) and Galatasaray (Galatasaray).

Roger Schmidt, the trainer, has announced the line up for PSV’s first encounter with Galatasaray during the second qualifying round in the Champions League. He chooses the same lineup as last week against PAOK Saloniki (0-1), while Galatasaray is represented by Ryan Babel. The match at Philips Stadium begins Wednesday evening at 9:15 p.m. The return match in Istanbul is set for Wednesday, 27 July.

Denzel Dumfries, Donyell Malen, and Denzel Dumfries will not be part of the PSV match choice. Both were allowed to transfer, but they did not participate in the whole preparation. Cody Gakpo was not a good choice for a starting player. After his participation in the European Championships, the attacker returned to vacation and was only partially trained. Schmidt thus chooses Yorbe Ventessen. Schmidt’s lineup is the same as that of last week’s exhibition game.

If PSV can survive the diptych against Galatasaray it could again be eligible for the qualification cycle for main tournament of Champions League on 3-4 August. On 10 August, the second match in third preliminary round will be played. The opponent will be either Celtic or FC Midtjylland. These two teams had a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. PSV and Galatasaray have been disqualified from the play-off draw. That means that the Champions League group stage will be dominated by Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsksk, KRC Genk and Celtic.
