Perfect strangers revolves around the events that follow one another during an apparently quiet dinner with friends, on the occasion of a lunar eclipse to be watched all together on the balcony. The owners of the house, a refined Roman apartment, are Eva (Kasia Smutniak) e Rocco (Marco Giallini), husband and wife in crisis for some time: he is a plastic surgeon who has always been skeptical of the usefulness of psychotherapy, while she is a psychoanalyst who has a conflicting relationship with her teenage daughter, Sofia (Benedetta Porcaroli). The couple decides to invite their old friends to dinner: the newlyweds Bianca (Alba Rohrwacher), shy, reserved and polite e Cosimo (Edoardo Leo), a taxi driver with the desire to change jobs every day, the spouses Catfish (Valerio Mastandrea), officer working in a legal office e Carlotta (Anna Foglietta), a woman dedicated to her family and finally Peppe (Joseph Battiston), an overweight and currently unemployed physical education teacher. Always single, Peppe recently got engaged to Lucilla, who, however, is not present at the dinner due to flu. Between courses, Eva is convinced that many couples would break up if each respective partner checked the contents of the other’s cell phone. He thus proposes a sort of game: each of them will have to put their mobile phone in the middle of the table and every call or message that will arrive during the evening will have to be shared publicly with the others.
SimulWatch is the app created by Coming Soon which is both a movie search engine within all legal streaming platforms operating in Italy, and a platform through which to set shared appointments for watching a movie and comment on it through the internal chat with friends, relatives or even strangers from the comfort of your home sofa.
