The Formula One World Championship series is set to kick off next weekend in Austria. As with other sports, the formulas reflect on how the races start to rotate after the crown break.
Renault team boss Cyril Abiteboul fears that one positive test result at the wrong time could result in the entire team having to skip the race weekend.
– If a positive case comes to light on Saturday morning and closes the stable for 24 hours, the stable will not be able to participate in the time trial and thus the entire race, Abiteboul reflects in an article from Autosport.
– I think it’s a balance between risk and common sense. That balance is hard to find.
The goal of F1 is to create conditions for the season’s races that will protect the species from infection. There are ways already familiar from other sports, including regular testing and limiting the number of people in closed-door racing events.
Daniel Ricciardo, an experienced Australian driver in the stable, considers caution and measures taken by the corona necessary. However, he believes that the race itself is the same as ever before.
– After sitting in the car, I believe that I am one hundred percent involved and I can give my all, Ricciardo says.
– We have to be careful. We’ve been waiting for the return to the races for so long that it would be a shame, and also dangerous, to risk anything, his teammate Esteban Ocon adds.
The F1 season 2020 starts next weekend in Austria. To date, eight competitions have been entered in the program, which will be run at a fast pace in Europe in about two months. .
