As nearly each week in latest months, Inside has organized a brand new batch of transfers of ETA prisoners who’re already nearer to the Basque Nation. On this case, there are six inmates who’ve benefited from the measure, amongst them the bloodthirsty assassin Jon Igor Solana Matarrán, a member of the “Andalusia command” who murdered the PP councilor in Malaga Martin Carpena, to the fiscal Luis Goalkeeper and the army physician Antonio Muñoz Cariñanos.
Solana, who’s serving a 30-year sentence for homicide, murder, havoc and damaged sentence, will depart the jail of Algeciras (Cádiz) and shall be taken to that of Zuera (Zaragoza) after being progressed to second diploma on the proposal of the Remedy Board from jail.
As reported by Penitentiary Establishments, the ETA member has admitted penitentiary legality and has submitted a letter through which he disassociates himself from ETA, rejects the violence and acknowledges the ache induced. He’ll serve three-quarters of his sentence in April 2023. He has been in jail since October 2000.
The Affiliation of Victims of Terrorism (AVT) has criticized these new approaches. “The ETA prisoners return residence for Christmas because of the Authorities of Sánchez,” they’ve assured in an announcement referring to the switch of Igor Solana, Eider Pérez Aristizabal, Asier García Justo, Ismael Berasategui Escudero, Aitor Herrera Vieites and Babino Sáez Olarra.
In accordance with the AVT, 121 transfers have already been permitted that correspond to 108 ETA members since Fernando Grande-Marlaska is Minister of the Inside, of which 33 have crimes of blood.
Balbino Sáez Olarra, who was sentenced to 108 years in jail, amongst different actions by the tried assassination of former socialist ministers José Barrionuevo and Matilde Fernández, is the one one in all these latest transfers that can end serving his sentence within the Álava jail. Final June he had already been introduced from the Valencia jail to the Valladolid jail. His sentence expires in April 2024 and, in accordance with Prisons, he has submitted a letter acknowledging the harm induced, “displaying his empathy with the victims” and rejecting the violence.
Asier García Justo, transferred from Badajoz to Asturias, was one of many murderers of the «ertzaina» Iñaki Totorikain Hernani in 2001. Sentenced to 30 years in jail, he’ll serve three-quarters in September 2023.
