What is the best 39 to 43 inch television? And which one has the best price-quality ratio? Press and the Consumers’ Association provide an answer.
Your seat determines how large the screen of your TV should be. The greater the viewing distance (the distance between you and your TV), the greater the TV. Research shows that most people prefer a distance of 2.4 times the screen diagonal of the TV (in centimeters).
The Consumers’ Association tests TVs for image quality, sound quality and ease of use. More than 230 TVs have been tested, of which about 40 in the popular 39 to 43 inch screen size. In this picture size, a LG television is both Best in Test and Best Buy.
This LG television has a smoothly working smart TV menu that includes apps for Netflix, YouTube, Disney + and Apple TV. There is also a handy remote control with which you can operate the cursor on the screen via movement.
The picture quality is not spectacular, but just okay with pretty natural colors and a smooth picture. The contrast is balanced, with details in both the dark and light parts of the image remaining clearly visible. Although it is a bit on the low side, compared to other TVs. But certainly with 4K footage with High Dynamic Range (HDR), the TV shows a nice picture.
The sound quality is the strong point of this TV. The sound is clear and pleasant, although it can sometimes sound a bit thin.
Keep in mind that the viewing angle is a bit on the small side, and that the headphones can only be connected via bluetooth.
Due to the competitive price, this well-performing TV is also the Best Buy. Although there are certainly other 43-inch TVs that offer good quality for a reasonable price.
In this column we write weekly about household and technological appliances that have been tested by the Consumers’ Association. This is a collaboration between the independent editors of Press and the Consumers’ Association.
The Consumers’ Association tests thousands of products every year, together with qualified technicians in specialized laboratories at home and abroad. The products being tested are store-bought so they are not pre-manipulated by manufacturers.
New models are tested as soon as possible after introduction. How fast that is differs per product. The Best in Test is the product with the best test rating. This can also be a somewhat older model, because a newer model is not always better. The Best Buy is the product with the best price-quality ratio.
