The Reno series of powerful midrangers released by OPPO at the beginning of 2019 it is close to releasing its fifth generation. A OPPO Reno5 5G is certified in TENAA revealing its most important hardware characteristics, as well as various details of its front, back and side designs.
TENAA is usually especially exhaustive with the indexing of information on smartphones that go through their certification tests and with the OPPO Reno5 5G they have not made an exception. Although, strictly speaking, it should be noted that the first load of information gathers less hardware details than we are used to.
The OPPO Reno5 5G would have a quad camera and OLED display
As we can deduce from its nomenclature, the Reno5 5G is the logical successor to the OPPO Reno4 5G. And according to what is listed by TENAA, two things will not change from one smartphone to another: compatibility with 5G connectivity and the presence of a 6.43-inch OLED display. Where the Reno5 5G would surpass its predecessor is in its rear camera module.
Instead of three lenses with 48, 8 and 2MP sensors in wide angle, ultra wide angle and depth lenses, the OPPO Reno5 5G would feature a quad camera with 64MP main sensor in a wide angle lens, an 8MP sensor in a ultra wide angle lens, a 2MP sensor in a macro lens and a 2MP sensor in a depth lens.
The OPPO Reno5 5G is certified in TENAA in a clear sign of an early official announcement as this is one of the last certifications that a smartphone obtains in China before going on the market. The telecommunications device security agency also noted that the Reno5 5G battery would be 4300mAh.
Otherwise, the technical specifications of the Reno5 5G are a mystery. We can speculate, however, with the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor as its predecessor. This is still one of Qualcomm’s most powerful mid-range processors and one of the few with an integrated 5G modem.
