Ten people lose their jobs at sc Heerenveen due to the corona crisis

The corona crisis led to a large number of layoffs at sc Heerenveen on Tuesday. The Eredivisionist says that ten positions will be canceled as a result of the financial situation.

“You are dealing with people, hard-working and dedicated employees who have often worked hard for the club for years. It hurts to report that there is no longer a place for them within the organization,” says general director Cees Roozemond at the site from Heerenveen.

“Unfortunately, it is reality. Heerenveen cannot escape the implementation of a reorganization in which jobs will be lost. It is in the interest of continuity.”

In the past year, Heerenveen already implemented more austerity measures, including cuts in staff. The management, players and employees also submitted salary.

Heerenveen is not the first Eredivisie club that has to put people on the street as a result of the corona crisis. Earlier this year FC Groningen already announced that eleven employees lost their jobs.

In terms of sport, things are going well this season with Heerenveen, which is sixth after eight games. That is beyond expectations, because the Frisians posted poor results in the preparation.
