Telstar booked a very late away from Excelsior on Tuesday in the Kitchen Champion Division. Eighteen-year-old Yaël Liesdek took care of the 1-2 in the Van Donge & De Roo Stadium in the final seconds of his third game as a professional. FC Den Bosch was at home 2-0 too strong for MVV Maastricht.
After a scoreless first half at Excelsior-Telstar, Excelsior forward Joël Zwarts signed for the opening goal shortly after the break. Twenty minutes later, Sven van Doorm tied the score and in the last seconds substitute right back Liesdek made the winning goal on behalf of Telstar.
The victory means that Telstar of coach Andries Jonker and his assistant Edgar Davids will report to the subtop. The ‘Witte Leeuwen’ have seven points from four games.
Excelsior did not beat Telstar for the sixth time in a row at home. The Kralingers last defeated the club from Velsen-Zuid in their own stadium in 2005 and are eighth with six points from four matches.
Den Bosch deservedly won 2-0 against MVV. The goals were scored after the break by Dhoraso Moreo Klas and Ryan Trotman. With six points, Den Bosch is number nine in the Eerste Divisie.
Thomas van Bommel, Mark van Bommel’s son, made his professional debut as a substitute at MVV. The club from Maastricht has two points less than Den Bosch and is sixteenth.
