The offended teenager was taken to Akershus University Hospital where he was treated for the violence he was subjected to. According to the police, the person in question must have received moderate injuries.

The police have now started an investigation with a view to prosecuting the perpetrators.

The team leader for the away team tells VG that he himself was on the opposite side of the football field, and that he did not see everything that happened.

– I can confirm that it was a form of fight, and that there are very many involved in the episode, without me knowing exactly how many were active, he says to VG.

According to the police, witnesses said that the leaders of the away team did not make any attempt to calm the mood, and that it was the audience that eventually had to intervene.

– Our coach ran away to try to calm down the players, but the situation at that time appeared confusing, says the team leader.

He says that the referee blew off the match. Both players, spectators and team leaders must have left the football field calmly. The team leader says he is surprised by the police’s presentation of the incident.

– I did not perceive the situation as dramatic and serious, and was not aware that someone had been beaten down and needed a medical check – and that the police were called.
