The 17 objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda explained through cinema, in an educational kit aimed at schools created by the Trento Film Festival and Center for International Cooperation thanks to the support of the CAI.
The Trento Film Festival 2020 has ended a few weeks ago, but confirms its willingness to reach out to its audience throughout the year. As it shows T4Future (Trento Film Festival For Future), the independent section dedicated to schools, teachers, children and families.
A rich program of screenings, image education workshops and activities designed to promote sustainable development, mountain protection and education for global citizenship.
T4Future is the evolution of the experiences gained over the years by the Trento Film Festival, which become sections of this larger project. A real educational alliance to promote the principles and objectives of the 2030 Agenda, the action program approved by the UN in 2015: the educational kit “Between Cinema and Nature” was born from these solid foundations, curated by the Trento Film Festival and the Center for International Cooperation thanks to the support of the CAI – Italian Alpine Club and with the patronage of ASVIS – Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, Iprase and the Autonomous Province of Trento – Agenda 2030. The project is promoted as part of the National Cinema Plan for the MIBAC-MIUR School.
The Trento Film Festival is a cultural storytelling workshop of the mountains, of the “high and extreme lands” of the planet. Thanks to the strength of the languages of art, the Festival since 1952 has offered its public a global look at the challenges facing humanity, the global climate crisis and the sometimes destructive power of man. For this reason he decided to take up the challenge of the 2030 Agenda, which reserves a central role to education, considered both an objective and an instrument to achieve universal sustainable development.
A didactic kit was therefore created for teachers interested in promoting global skills of sustainable development through activities and proposals related to film viewing, accompanied by tools that support the active participation of students. The vision of the cinematographic work and the relative didactic activities are possible both in the classroom and on the web (in streaming) for distance lessons; the teacher can select the method during the request phase. The educational kit proposes 17 “lessons”, as many as the Sustainable Development Goals, and includes a film (documentary or short animated film) linked to a didactic activity. It is also possible to adopt the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology. selecting the activities developed in English and German, as well as using the original language of the film to facilitate the learning of the foreign language.
T4Future also provides training activities aimed at teachers taking place during the school year and a Educational kit always available for classroom training. For the 2020/2021 school year, the kit will be available free of charge for teachers who request it by filling out the form at this link.
