(RB Leipzig – Hertha Berlin 2-1) In his first match from the start for RB Leipzig, Alexander Sørloth scored his first goal for the club. But the goal-scoring pass was of the lucky kind.

The goal-scoring pass to midfielder Dayot Upamecano became an unintentional wall play when the French defender fired a shot that hit Sørloth, went back to Upamecano, who then hammered the ball into the net.

Thus, Sørloth got his first assist as an RB Leipzig player. Then the match was only eleven minutes old.

The goal came just three minutes after Hertha Berlin had taken the lead in Leipzig. Jhon Cordoba finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem.

Sørloth has made headlines here in Norway recently after VG revealed that he was involved in a heated discussion with the Norwegian national team management.

Earlier this week, he sat on the bench the whole match when RB Leipzig starts the Champions League group stage with an impressive victory over Turkish Istanbul Basaksehir. Before Saturday’s settlement, he had received a total of 81 Bundesliga minutes in three innings.

Against Hertha Berlin he got to play the whole match, but never got the great opportunities.

The striker, who scored 33 goals for Trabzonspor last season, had several good involvements, but all came in the constructive game. He had several good passes and repeatedly showed his fierce dueling strength, but he had no shots on goal, and usually got the ball with his back to the Hertha Berlin goal.

He got an opportunity right on the butt. The Norwegian was supposed to hit a post, but slipped completely. It almost ended up being scoring, as he hit the crossbar.

However, that was the closest he came to scoring.

Sørloth got the whole match at the top against a capital team that was reduced to ten men after 50 minutes. Dutchman Deyovaisio Zeefuik was substituted after the break, but within four minutes he incurred two yellow cards – and thus got a marching order.

Julian Nagelsmann threw in one offensive player after another. Danish Yussuf Poulsen came in, so did playmaker Dani Olmo. However, it was substitute number three that was to be decisive.
