Apple’s Spotlight Search helps find content quickly on iPhones, iPads, and Macs with iOS 8 or later.
Spotlight Search is a feature available on all iPhones, iPads, and Macs with an iOS 8 update or later. It is designed to make searches easier and quicker by scanning the entire device for anything related to the term typed into the search bar. It can search for music, contacts, email, weather, calendar, maps, news and more, and can even bring in outside results from the internet and App Store. It is better than searching in specific apps because it pulls more content for the user, giving them all the options on one page. To open it on an iPhone or iPad, swipe down from the middle of the home screen and click the Search circle. For Macs, look at the top bar and click the magnifying glass icon. Users can also change the search settings to limit which apps and results appear while searching. Spotlight Search is a great feature for Apple users to make their searches easier and quicker.
